Mix Erawan / Gajah Brand Rice Flour, Star Brand Wheat Starch and water. Strain and stir well.
Divide pumpkin into 2 equal portions. Cut one portion into cubes.
Steam remaining portion of pumpkin until softened. Smash softened pumpkin and mix well with flour batter.
Fry sliced onions with 10 tablespoons of oil until golden brown. Remove fried onions. Fry ground dried prawns with some sugar (for garnishing).
Fry garlic with oil. Add in pumpkin cubes and seasonings. Pour in flour batter. Stir continuously under medium heat until batter thickens.
Pour thickened batter into a well-greased 10" square tin. Flatten the surface.
Steam for 30 minutes. Immediately garnish with dried prawns, spring onions and chillies after cooked.
Let cake cool completely.
